Deutschenschweiz
This page is about the increasing loss of the Swiss-German language, among other things due to German companies marketing products in Switzerland without bothering to actually learn Swiss-German. The barrage of very non-Swiss terminlogy and grammar used everywhere has made it so that Swiss-German speakers no longer notice when they are using non-Swiss language.
I like Swiss-German, but I fear that by the time I die, it will be indistinguishable from High German. Swiss-German is an alemannic language, High German is a germanic one. They are simply not the same thing, so I would much prefer if companies and people stopped using High German terms and constructs in Swiss-German. This is what this campaign is about. Rest in German.
Die deutschenschweizerische Flagge ist ein Preis, den man denjenigen Firmen und Personen verleihen darf, die ihr Schweizerdeutsch mit Begriffen und grammatischen Konstrukten aus dem Hochdeutschen vergewaltigen. Bitte bedient euch und benutzt die Flagge in Blogs, Foren, wo auch immer, wenn ihr selber auf solche Hässlichkeiten stosst.
